Winner Prix de Rome Sculpture 1841: J. de Koningh
Sculptor John de Koningh (1808-1845) won the Prix de Rome in 1841 in the category Sculpture. He won the competition with a work of Prometheus, returning to earth with the stolen fire. Unfortunately, the sculpture got lost. During his residency in Rome, De Koningh got ill and died in Genua. More information on J. de Koningh in Rome.
