Winner Prix de Rome Sculpture 1841: J. de Koningh

Sculptor John de Koningh (1808-1845) won the Prix de Rome in 1841 in the category Sculpture. He won the competition with a work of Prometheus, returning to earth with the stolen fire. Unfortunately, the sculpture got lost. During his residency in Rome, De Koningh got ill and died in Genua.
